Rat Htr2c qPCR Primer Set – 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 2C

Also known as: 5-HT2C, 5-HTR2C, 5HT-1C

About this gene: Serotonin, a neurotransmitter, elicits a wide array of physiological effects by binding to multiple receptor subtypes, including the 5-HT2 family of seven-transmembrane-spanning, G-protein-coupled receptors, which activate phospholipase C and D signaling pathways. Htr2c encodes a 2C subtype of serotonin receptor and its mRNA is subject to multiple RNA editing events, where genomically encoded adenosine residues are converted to inosines. Studies in rodents show altered patterns of RNA editing in response to drug treatments and stressful situations.

Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 25187; UniProt: P08909; Chromosome location: Xq34

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
