Rat Grik3 qPCR Primer Set – glutamate ionotropic receptor kainate type subunit 3

Also known as: GluK3, GluR7, gluR-7

About this gene: Glutamate receptors are the predominant excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in the mammalian brain and are activated in a variety of normal neurophysiologic processes. Grik3 product belongs to the kainate family of glutamate receptors, which are composed of four subunits and function as ligand-activated ion channels. Compared to other kainate or AMPA receptors, this subunit exhibits a lower sensitivity to glutamate, and thus may play a unique role in neurotransmission in the brain.

Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 298521; UniProt: P42264; Chromosome location: 5q36

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
