Product Description

SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting mouse Ctsk (cathepsin K) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.

Mouse Ctsk qPCR Primer Set – cathepsin K

Also known as: MMS10-Q, Ms10q, catK

About this gene: Ctsk belongs to the cathepsin family of cysteine proteases that is highly expressed in osteoclasts and is involved in the degradation of collagen and other matrix proteins in bone. The encoded preproprotein undergoes proteolytic processing to generate a mature, functional enzyme. Mice lacking the Ctsk protein exhibit phenotypic features of pycnodysostosis such as increased bone density and bone deformity, which become progressively more pronounced with age.

Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 13038; UniProt: P55097; Chromosome location: 3 F2.1|3 40.74 cM

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
