Human UROD qPCR Primer Set – uroporphyrinogen decarboxylase

Also known as: PCT, UPD

About this gene: UROD encodes a enzyme in the heme biosynthetic pathway. This enzyme is responsible for catalyzing the conversion of uroporphyrinogen to coproporphyrinogen through the removal of four carboxymethyl side chains. Mutations and deficiency in this enzyme are known to cause familial porphyria cutanea tarda and hepatoerythropoetic porphyria.

Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 7389; HGNC ID: HGNC:12591; UniProt: P06132; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000374.5; Chromosome location: 1p34.1

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
