SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human UCP1 (uncoupling protein 1, also called thermogenin) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human UCP1 qPCR Primer Set – uncoupling protein 1
Also known as: SLC25A7, UCP
About this gene: Mitochondrial uncoupling proteins are members of the family of mitochondrial anion carrier proteins. UCPs separate oxidative phosphorylation from ATP synthesis with energy dissipated as heat, also referred to as the mitochondrial proton leak. UCPs facilitate the transfer of anions from the inner to the outer mitochondrial membrane and the return transfer of protons from the outer to the inner mitochondrial membrane.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 7350; HGNC ID: HGNC:12517; UniProt: P25874; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_021833.5; Chromosome location: 4q31.1
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
