Human TPH1 qPCR Primer Set – tryptophan hydroxylase 1

Also known as: TPRH, TRPH, TPH

About this gene: TPH1 belongs to the aromatic amino acid hydroxylase family. The TPH1 protein catalyzes the first and rate limiting step in the biosynthesis of serotonin, an important hormone and neurotransmitter. Mutations in TPH1 have been linked to an elevated risk for a variety of diseases and disorders, including schizophrenia, somatic anxiety, anger-related traits, bipolar disorder, suicidal behavior, addictions, and others.

Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 7166; HGNC ID: HGNC:12008; UniProt: P17752; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_004179.3; Chromosome location: 11p15.1

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
