SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human TAFAZZIN (tafazzin, phospholipid-lysophospholipid transacylase, also called Taz) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human TAFAZZIN qPCR Primer Set – tafazzin, phospholipid-lysophospholipid transacylase
Also known as: BTHS, CMD3A, EFE, EFE2, G4.5, LVNCX, TAZ, Taz1
About this gene: TAFAZZIN encodes a protein that is expressed at high levels in cardiac and skeletal muscle. Mutations in TAFAZZIN have been linked to a number of clinical disorders including Barth syndrome, dilated cardiomyopathy, hypertrophic DCM, endocardial fibroelastosis, and left ventricular noncompaction. A long form and a short form of each of these isoforms is produced; the short form lacks a hydrophobic leader sequence and may exist as a cytoplasmic protein rather than being membrane-bound.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 6901; HGNC ID: HGNC:11577; UniProt: Q16635; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000116.5; Chromosome location: Xq28
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
