SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human SST (somatostatin) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human SST qPCR Primer Set – somatostatin
Also known as: SMST, SST1
About this gene: The hormone somatostatin has active 14 aa and 28 aa forms that are produced by alternate cleavage of the single preproprotein encoded by SST. Somatostatin is expressed throughout the body and inhibits the release of numerous secondary hormones by binding to high-affinity G-protein-coupled somatostatin receptors. This hormone is an important regulator of the endocrine system through its interactions with pituitary growth hormone, thyroid stimulating hormone, and most hormones of the gastrointestinal tract.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 6750; HGNC ID: HGNC:11329; UniProt: P61278; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_001048.4; Chromosome location: 3q27.3
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
