SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human SPTLC2 (serine palmitoyltransferase long chain base subunit 2, also called LCB2a) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human SPTLC2 qPCR Primer Set – serine palmitoyltransferase long chain base subunit 2
Also known as: HSN1C, LCB2, LCB2A, NSAN1C, SPT2, hLCB2a
About this gene: SPTLC2 encodes a long chain base subunit of serine palmitoyltransferase. Serine palmitoyltransferase, which consists of two different subunits, is the key enzyme in sphingolipid biosynthesis. The SPTLC2 gene product catalyzes the pyridoxal-5-prime-phosphate-dependent condensation of L-serine and palmitoyl-CoA to 3-oxosphinganine.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 9517; HGNC ID: HGNC:11278; UniProt: O15270; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_004863.4; Chromosome location: 14q24.3
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
