Human SOD2 qPCR Primer Set – superoxide dismutase 2
Also known as: GC1, GClnc1, IPO-B, IPOB, MNSOD, MVCD6, Mn-SOD, lncRNA-GC1
About this gene: SOD2 belongs to the iron/manganese superoxide dismutase family. The SOD2 gene product encodes a mitochondrial protein that forms a homotetramer and binds one manganese ion per subunit. The SOD2 protein binds to the superoxide byproducts of oxidative phosphorylation and converts them to hydrogen peroxide and diatomic oxygen.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 6648; HGNC ID: HGNC:11180; UniProt: P04179; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000636.4; Chromosome location: 6q25.3
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
