SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human SOD1 (superoxide dismutase 1, also called hSod1) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human SOD1 qPCR Primer Set – superoxide dismutase 1
Also known as: ALS, ALS1, HEL-S-44, IPOA, SOD, STAHP, hSod1, homodimer
About this gene: The SOD1 protein binds copper and zinc ions and is one of two isozymes responsible for destroying free superoxide radicals in the body. The encoded isozyme is a soluble cytoplasmic protein, acting as a homodimer to convert naturally-occuring but harmful superoxide radicals to molecular oxygen and hydrogen peroxide. The other isozyme is a mitochondrial protein.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 6647; HGNC ID: HGNC:11179; UniProt: P00441; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000454.5; Chromosome location: 21q22.11
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
