SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human SMPD4 (sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase 4, also called nSMase3) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human SMPD4 qPCR Primer Set – sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase 4
Also known as: NEDMABA, NEDMEBA, NET13, NSMASE-3, NSMASE3, SKNY
About this gene: The SMPD4 protein is a sphingomyelinase that catalyzes the hydrolysis of membrane sphingomyelin to form phosphorylcholine and ceramide. SMPD4 is activated by DNA damage, cellular stress, and tumor necrosis factor, but it is downregulated by wild-type p53. The SMPD4 protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi network.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 55627; HGNC ID: HGNC:32949; UniProt: Q9NXE4; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_017951.5; Chromosome location: 2q21.1
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
