About this gene: SLC39A8 belongs to the SLC39 family of solute-carrier genes, which show structural characteristics of zinc transporters. The SLC39A8 protein is glycosylated and found in the plasma membrane and mitochondria, and functions in the cellular import of zinc at the onset of inflammation. The SLC39A8 gene product is also thought to be the primary transporter of the toxic cation cadmium, which is found in cigarette smoke.

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
