SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human ST8SIA2 (ST8 alpha-N-acetyl-neuraminide alpha-2,8-sialyltransferase 2, also called STX) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human ST8SIA2 qPCR Primer Set – ST8 alpha-N-acetyl-neuraminide alpha-2,8-sialyltransferase 2
Also known as: HsT19690, SIAT8-B, SIAT8B, ST8SIA-II, ST8SiaII, STX
About this gene: The ST8SIA2 protein is a type II membrane protein that is believed to catalyze the transfer of sialic acid from CMP-sialic acid to N-linked oligosaccharides and glycoproteins. The ST8SIA2 protein may be found in the Golgi apparatus and may be involved in the production of polysialic acid, a modulator of the adhesive properties of neural cell adhesion molecule. The ST8SIA2 protein belongs to glycosyltransferase family 29.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 8128; HGNC ID: HGNC:10870; UniProt: Q92186; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_006011.4; Chromosome location: 15q26.1
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
