SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human ST8SIA1 (ST8 alpha-N-acetyl-neuraminide alpha-2,8-sialyltransferase 1, also called SIAT8-A) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human ST8SIA1 qPCR Primer Set – ST8 alpha-N-acetyl-neuraminide alpha-2,8-sialyltransferase 1
Also known as: GD3S, SIAT8, SIAT8-A, SIAT8A, ST8SiaI
About this gene: Gangliosides are membrane-bound glycosphingolipids containing sialic acid. Ganglioside GD3 is known to be important for cell adhesion and growth of cultured malignant cells. The ST8SIA1 protein is a type II membrane protein that catalyzes the transfer of sialic acid from CMP-sialic acid to GM3 to produce gangliosides GD3 and GT3.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 6489; HGNC ID: HGNC:10869; UniProt: Q92185; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_003034.4; Chromosome location: 12p12.1
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
