SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human ST6GALNAC4 (ST6 N-acetylgalactosaminide alpha-2,6-sialyltransferase 4, also called SIAT3-C) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human ST6GALNAC4 qPCR Primer Set – ST6 N-acetylgalactosaminide alpha-2,6-sialyltransferase 4
Also known as: IV, SIAT3-C, SIAT3C, SIAT7-D, SIAT7D, ST6GALNACIV, ST6GalNAc
About this gene: The ST6GALNAC4 protein is a type II membrane protein that catalyzes the transfer of sialic acid from CMP-sialic acid to galactose-containing substrates. The ST6GALNAC4 protein prefers glycoproteins rather than glycolipids as substrates and shows restricted substrate specificity, utilizing only the trisaccharide sequence Neu5Ac-alpha-2,3-Gal-beta-1,3-GalNAc. In addition, it is involved in the synthesis of ganglioside GD1A from GM1B. The encoded protein is normally found in the Golgi apparatus but can be proteolytically processed to a soluble form.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 27090; HGNC ID: HGNC:17846; UniProt: Q9H4F1; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_175039.4; Chromosome location: 9q34.11
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
