SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin, also called SBP) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human SHBG qPCR Primer Set – sex hormone binding globulin
Also known as: ABP, SBP, TEBG
About this gene: SHBG encodes a steroid binding protein that was first described as a plasma protein secreted by the liver but is now thought to participate in the regulation of steroid responses. The SHBG protein transports androgens and estrogens in the blood, binding each steroid molecule as a dimer formed from identical or nearly identical monomers. Polymorphisms in SHBG have been linked to polycystic ovary syndrome and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 6462; HGNC ID: HGNC:10839; UniProt: P04278; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_001040.5; Chromosome location: 17p13.1
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
