SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human SELENOW (selenoprotein W, also called SelW) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human SELENOW qPCR Primer Set – selenoprotein W
Also known as: SEPW1, selW
About this gene: SELENOW encodes a selenoprotein containing a selenocysteine residue, which is encoded by the UGA codon that normally signals translation termination. The 3' UTRs of selenoprotein mRNAs contain a conserved stem-loop structure, the Sec insertion sequence element that is necessary for the recognition of UGA as a Sec codon rather than as a stop signal. The SELENOW protein is highly expressed in skeletal muscle, heart and brain.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 6415; HGNC ID: HGNC:10752; UniProt: P63302; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_003009.4; Chromosome location: 19q13.33
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
