Human SCO2 qPCR Primer Set – synthesis of cytochrome C oxidase 2
Also known as: CEMCOX1, ECGF1, Gliostatin, MC4DN2, MYP6, PD-ECGF, SCO1L, TP, TdRPase
About this gene: Cytochrome c oxidase catalyzes the transfer of electrons from cytochrome c to molecular oxygen, which helps to maintain the proton gradient across the inner mitochondrial membrane that is necessary for aerobic ATP production. Human COX is a multimeric protein complex that requires multiple assembly factors; SCO2 encodes one of the COX assembly factors. The SCO2 protein is a metallochaperone that is involved in the biogenesis of cytochrome c oxidase subunit II. Mutations in SCO2 are linked to fatal infantile encephalocardiomyopathy and myopia 6.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 9997; HGNC ID: HGNC:10604; UniProt: O43819; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_005138.3; Chromosome location: 22q13.33
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
