Human ATXN1 qPCR Primer Set – ataxin 1
Also known as: ATX1, D6S504E, SCA1
About this gene: The autosomal dominant cerebellar ataxias are a heterogeneous group of neurodegenerative disorders characterized by progressive degeneration of the cerebellum, brain stem and spinal cord. Clinically, ADCA has been divided into three groups: ADCA types I-III. ADCAI is genetically heterogeneous, with five genetic loci, designated spinocerebellar ataxia 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6, being assigned to five different chromosomes. ADCAII, which always presents with retinal degeneration, and ADCAIII often referred to as the `pure' cerebellar syndrome, are most likely homogeneous disorders.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 6310; HGNC ID: HGNC:10548; UniProt: P54253; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_001128164.2; Chromosome location: 6p22.3
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
