Human RS1 qPCR Primer Set – retinoschisin 1

Also known as: RS, XLRS1

About this gene: RS1 encodes a extracellular protein that plays a crucial role in the cellular organization of the retina. The RS1 protein is assembled and secreted from photoreceptors and bipolar cells as a homo-oligomeric protein complex. Mutations in RS1 are responsible for X-linked retinoschisis, a common, early-onset macular degeneration in males that leads to a splitting of the inner layers of the retina and severe loss in vision.

Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 6247; HGNC ID: HGNC:10457; UniProt: O15537; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000330.4; Chromosome location: Xp22.13

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
