Human HSD17B6 qPCR Primer Set – hydroxysteroid 17-beta dehydrogenase 6
Also known as: HSE, RODH, SDR9C6
About this gene: The HSD17B6 protein has both oxidoreductase and epimerase activities and is involved in androgen catabolism. The oxidoreductase activity can convert 3 alpha-adiol to dihydrotestosterone, while the epimerase activity can convert androsterone to epi-androsterone. Both reactions use NAD+ as the preferred cofactor.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 8630; HGNC ID: HGNC:23316; UniProt: O14756; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_003725.4; Chromosome location: 12q13.3
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
