SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human RDH8 (retinol dehydrogenase 8) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human RDH8 qPCR Primer Set – retinol dehydrogenase 8
Also known as: PRRDH, SDR28C2, STGD5
About this gene: RDH8 belongs to the short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase family. The RDH8 protein catalyzes the reduction of all-trans-retinal to all-trans-retinol, the first reaction step of the rhodopsin regeneration pathway. This enzymatic reaction is the rate-limiting step in the visual cycle.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 50700; HGNC ID: HGNC:14423; UniProt: Q9NYR8; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_015725.4; Chromosome location: 19p13.2
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
