Human RDH5 qPCR Primer Set – retinol dehydrogenase 5
Also known as: 9cRDH, HSD17B9, RDH1, SDR9C5
About this gene: RDH5 encodes a enzyme belonging to the short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases family. This retinol dehydrogenase functions to catalyze the final step in the biosynthesis of 11-cis retinaldehyde, which is the universal chromophore of visual pigments. Mutations in RDH5 cause autosomal recessive fundus albipunctatus, a rare form of night blindness that is characterized by a delay in the regeneration of cone and rod photopigments.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 5959; HGNC ID: HGNC:9940; UniProt: Q92781; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_002905.5; Chromosome location: 12q13.2
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
