SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human ALDH18A1 (aldehyde dehydrogenase 18 family member A1, also called P5CS) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human ALDH18A1 qPCR Primer Set – aldehyde dehydrogenase 18 family member A1
Also known as: ADCL3, ARCL3A, GSAS, P5CS, PYCS, SPG9, SPG9A, SPG9B
About this gene: ALDH18A1 belongs to the aldehyde dehydrogenase family and encodes a bifunctional ATP- and NADPH-dependent mitochondrial enzyme with both gamma-glutamyl kinase and gamma-glutamyl phosphate reductase activities. The ALDH18A1 protein catalyzes the reduction of glutamate to delta1-pyrroline-5-carboxylate, a critical step in the de novo biosynthesis of proline, ornithine and arginine. Mutations in ALDH18A1 lead to hyperammonemia, hypoornithinemia, hypocitrullinemia, hypoargininemia and hypoprolinemia and may be linked to neurodegeneration, cataracts and connective tissue diseases.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 5832; HGNC ID: HGNC:9722; UniProt: P54886; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_002860.4; Chromosome location: 10q24.1
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
