SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human PTGS1 (prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 1) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human PTGS1 qPCR Primer Set – prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 1
Also known as: COX1, COX3, PCOX1, PES-1, PGG/HS, PGHS-1, PGHS1, PHS1, PTGHS
About this gene: This is one of two genes encoding similar enzymes that catalyze the conversion of arachidonate to prostaglandin. The PTGS1 protein regulates angiogenesis in endothelial cells, and is inhibited by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin. Based on its ability to function as both a cyclooxygenase and as a peroxidase, the PTGS1 protein has been identified as a moonlighting protein.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 5742; HGNC ID: HGNC:9604; UniProt: P23219; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000962.4; Chromosome location: 9q33.2
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
