Human PRSS12 qPCR Primer Set – serine protease 12

Also known as: BSSP-3, BSSP3, MRT1

About this gene: PRSS12 belongs to the trypsin family of serine proteases and contains a signal peptide, a proline-rich region, a Kringle domain, four scavenger receptor cysteine-rich domains, and a trypsin-like serine protease domain. The protein, sometimes referred to as neurotrypsin or motopsin, is secreted from neuronal cells and localizes to the synaptic cleft. Studies in mice show that this protein cleaves a protein, agrin, that is important for the formation and maintenance of exitatory synapses.

Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 8492; HGNC ID: HGNC:9477; UniProt: P56730; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_003619.4; Chromosome location: 4q26

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
