SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human PRNP (prion protein (Kanno blood group), also called PrP) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human PRNP qPCR Primer Set – prion protein (Kanno blood group)
Also known as: ASCR, AltPrP, CD230, CJD, GSS, KURU, PRIP, PrP, PrP27-30, PrP33-35C, PrPc, p27-30
About this gene: The PRNP protein is a membrane glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored glycoprotein that tends to aggregate into rod-like structures. The PRNP protein contains a highly unstable region of five tandem octapeptide repeats. PRNP is found on chromosome 20, approximately 20 kbp upstream of a gene which encodes a biochemically and structurally similar protein to the one encoded by PRNP.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 5621; HGNC ID: HGNC:9449; UniProt: P04156; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000311.5; Chromosome location: 20p13
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
