Human PRMT6 qPCR Primer Set – protein arginine methyltransferase 6
Also known as: HRMT1L6
About this gene: The PRMT6 protein belongs to the arginine N-methyltransferase family, which catalyze the sequential transfer of methyl group from S-adenosyl-L-methionine to the side chain nitrogens of arginine residues within proteins, to form methylated arginine derivatives and S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine. The PRMT6 protein can catalyze both, the formation of omega-N monomethylarginine and asymmetrical dimethylarginine, with a strong preference for the latter. The PRMT6 gene product specifically mediates the asymmetric dimethylation of Arg2 of histone H3, and the methylated form represents a specific tag for epigenetic transcriptional repression.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 55170; HGNC ID: HGNC:18241; UniProt: Q96LA8; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_018137.3; Chromosome location: 1p13.3
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
