Human PRKACA qPCR Primer Set – protein kinase cAMP-activated catalytic subunit alpha

Also known as: CAFD1, PKACA, PPNAD4

About this gene: PRKACA encodes one of the catalytic subunits of protein kinase A, which exists as a tetrameric holoenzyme with two regulatory subunits and two catalytic subunits. Four different regulatory subunits and three catalytic subunits have been identified in humans. cAMP-dependent phosphorylation of proteins by protein kinase A is important to many cellular processes, including differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis. Constitutive activation of PRKACA caused either by somatic mutations, or genomic duplications of regions that include PRKACA, have been linked to hyperplasias and adenomas of the adrenal cortex and are linked to corticotropin-independent Cushing's syndrome.

Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 5566; HGNC ID: HGNC:9380; UniProt: P17612; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_002730.4; Chromosome location: 19p13.12

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
