Human PNPO qPCR Primer Set – pyridoxamine 5'-phosphate oxidase

Also known as: HEL-S-302, PDXPO

About this gene: The enzyme encoded by PNPO catalyzes the terminal, rate-limiting step in the synthesis of pyridoxal 5'-phosphate, also known as vitamin B6. Vitamin B6 is a required co-factor for enzymes involved in both homocysteine metabolism and synthesis of neurotransmitters such as catecholamine. Mutations in PNPO result in pyridoxamine 5'-phosphate oxidase deficiency, a form of neonatal epileptic encephalopathy.

Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 55163; HGNC ID: HGNC:30260; UniProt: Q9NVS9; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_018129.4; Chromosome location: 17q21.32

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
