SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human PHYH (phytanoyl-CoA 2-hydroxylase) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human PHYH qPCR Primer Set – phytanoyl-CoA 2-hydroxylase
Also known as: LN1, LNAP1, PAHX, PHYH1, RD
About this gene: PHYH belongs to the PhyH family and encodes a peroxisomal protein that is involved in the alpha-oxidation of 3-methyl branched fatty acids. Specifically, this protein converts phytanoyl-CoA to 2-hydroxyphytanoyl-CoA. Mutations in PHYH have been linked to Refsum disease and deficient protein activity has been linked to Zellweger syndrome and rhizomelic chondrodysplasia punctata. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 5264; HGNC ID: HGNC:8940; UniProt: O14832; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_006214.4; Chromosome location: 10p13
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
