SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human PGGT1B (protein geranylgeranyltransferase type I subunit beta, also called GGTase-I-beta) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.

Human PGGT1B qPCR Primer Set – protein geranylgeranyltransferase type I subunit beta

Also known as: BGGI, GGTI

About this gene: Protein geranylgeranyltransferase type I transfers a geranylgeranyl group to the cysteine residue of candidate proteins containing a C-terminal CAAX motif in which 'A' is an aliphatic amino acid and 'X' is leucine. The enzyme is composed of a 48-kD alpha subunit and a 43-kD beta subunit, encoded by the PGGT1B gene. The FNTA gene encodes the alpha subunit for both GGTase-I and the related enzyme farnesyltransferase.[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2010].

Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 5229; HGNC ID: HGNC:8895; UniProt: P53609; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_005023.4; Chromosome location: 5q22.3

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
