Human PFKFB2 qPCR Primer Set – 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-biphosphatase 2
Also known as: PFK-2/FBPase-2
About this gene: The PFKFB2 protein is involved in both the synthesis and degradation of fructose-2,6-bisphosphate, a regulatory molecule that controls glycolysis in eukaryotes. The PFKFB2 protein has a 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase activity that catalyzes the synthesis of fructose-2,6-bisphosphate, and a fructose-2,6-biphosphatase activity that catalyzes the degradation of fructose-2,6-bisphosphate. The PFKFB2 protein regulates fructose-2,6-bisphosphate levels in the heart, while a related enzyme encoded by a different gene regulates fructose-2,6-bisphosphate levels in the liver and muscle.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 5208; HGNC ID: HGNC:8873; UniProt: O60825; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_006212.2; Chromosome location: 1q32.1
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
