Human TWNK qPCR Primer Set – twinkle mtDNA helicase
Also known as: ATXN8, C10orf2, IOSCA, MTDPS7, PEO, PEO1, PEOA3, PRLTS5, SANDO, SCA8, TWINL
About this gene: TWNK encodes a hexameric DNA helicase which unwinds short stretches of double-stranded DNA in the 5' to 3' direction and, along with mitochondrial single-stranded DNA binding protein and mtDNA polymerase gamma. The protein localizes to the mitochondrial matrix and mitochondrial nucleoids. Mutations in TWNK cause infantile onset spinocerebellar ataxia and progressive external ophthalmoplegia and are also linked to multiple mitochondrial depletion syndromes.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 56652; HGNC ID: HGNC:1160; UniProt: Q96RR1; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_021830.5; Chromosome location: 10q24.31
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
