SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human PENK (proenkephalin) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human PENK qPCR Primer Set – proenkephalin
Also known as: PE, PENK-A
About this gene: PENK encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed to generate multiple protein products. These products include the pentapeptide opioids Met-enkephalin and Leu-enkephalin, which are stored in synaptic vesicles, then released into the synapse where they bind to mu- and delta-opioid receptors to modulate the perception of pain. Other non-opioid cleavage products may function in distinct biological activities.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 5179; HGNC ID: HGNC:8831; UniProt: P01210; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_001135690.3; Chromosome location: 8q12.1
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
