Human PCSK1 qPCR Primer Set – proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 1

Also known as: BMIQ12, NEC1, PC1, PC1/3, PC3, SPC3

About this gene: PCSK1 belongs to the subtilisin-like proprotein convertase family, which includes proteases that process protein and peptide precursors trafficking through regulated or constitutive branches of the secretory pathway. The PCSK1 protein undergoes an initial autocatalytic processing event in the ER to generate a heterodimer which exits the ER and sorts to subcellular compartments where a second autocatalytic even takes place and the catalytic activity is acquired. The protease is packaged into and activated in dense core secretory granules and expressed in the neuroendocrine system and brain.

Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 5122; HGNC ID: HGNC:8743; UniProt: P29120; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000439.5; Chromosome location: 5q15

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
