SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human PCMT1 (protein-L-isoaspartate (D-aspartate) O-methyltransferase, also called PIMT) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human PCMT1 qPCR Primer Set – protein-L-isoaspartate (D-aspartate) O-methyltransferase
Also known as: PIMT
About this gene: PCMT1 belongs to the type II class of protein carboxyl methyltransferase enzymes. The encoded enzyme is involved in protein repair by recognizing and converting D-aspartyl and L-isoaspartyl residues resulting from spontaneous deamidation back to the normal L-aspartyl form. The PCMT1 protein may play a protective role in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease, and single nucleotide polymorphisms in PCMT1 have been linked to spina bifida and premature ovarian failure.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 5110; HGNC ID: HGNC:8728; UniProt: P22061; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_001360452.2; Chromosome location: 6q25.1
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
