Product Description

SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human PAFAH2 (platelet activating factor acetylhydrolase 2, also called hSD-PLA2) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.

Human PAFAH2 qPCR Primer Set – platelet activating factor acetylhydrolase 2

Also known as: HSD-PLA2

About this gene: PAFAH2 encodes platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase isoform 2, a single-subunit intracellular enzyme that catalyzes the removal of the acetyl group at the SN-2 position of platelet-activating factor (identified as 1-O-alkyl-2-acetyl-sn-glyceryl-3-phosphorylcholine). However, this lipase exhibits a broader substrate specificity than simply platelet activating factor. Two other isoforms of intracellular platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase exist, and both are multi-subunit enzymes.

Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 5051; HGNC ID: HGNC:8579; UniProt: Q99487; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000437.4; Chromosome location: 1p36.11

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
