Human PAFAH1B1 qPCR Primer Set – platelet activating factor acetylhydrolase 1b regulatory subunit 1

Also known as: LIS1, LIS2, MDCR, MDS, NudF, PAFAH

About this gene: This locus was identified as encoding a gene that when mutated or lost caused the lissencephaly linked to Miller-Dieker lissencephaly syndrome. PAFAH1B1 encodes a non-catalytic alpha subunit of the intracellular Ib isoform of platelet-activating factor acteylhydrolase, a heterotrimeric enzyme that specifically catalyzes the removal of the acetyl group at the SN-2 position of platelet-activating factor (identified as 1-O-alkyl-2-acetyl-sn-glyceryl-3-phosphorylcholine). Two other isoforms of intracellular platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase exist: one composed of multiple subunits, the other, a single subunit.

Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 5048; HGNC ID: HGNC:8574; UniProt: P43034; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000430.4; Chromosome location: 17p13.3

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
