SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human OTC (ornithine transcarbamylase, also called OTCase) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human OTC qPCR Primer Set – ornithine transcarbamylase
Also known as: OCTD, OTC1, OTCD, OTCase
About this gene: This nuclear gene encodes a mitochondrial matrix enzyme. The OTC protein is involved in the urea cycle which functions to detoxify ammonia into urea for excretion. Mutations in this enzyme lead to ornithine transcarbamylase deficiency, which causes hyperammonemia.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 5009; HGNC ID: HGNC:8512; UniProt: P00480; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000531.6; Chromosome location: Xp11.4
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
