SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human NOS1 (nitric oxide synthase 1, also called nNOS) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human NOS1 qPCR Primer Set – nitric oxide synthase 1
Also known as: IHPS1, N-NOS, NC-NOS, NOS, bNOS, nNOS
About this gene: The NOS1 protein belongs to the family of nitric oxide synthases, which synthesize nitric oxide from L-arginine. Nitric oxide is a reactive free radical, which acts as a biologic mediator in multiple processes, including neurotransmission, and antimicrobial and antitumoral activities. In the brain and peripheral nervous system, nitric oxide displays many properties of a neurotransmitter, and has been implicated in neurotoxicity linked to stroke and neurodegenerative diseases, neural regulation of smooth muscle, including peristalsis, and penile erection.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 4842; HGNC ID: HGNC:7872; UniProt: P29475; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000620.5; Chromosome location: 12q24.22
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
