Human NCSTN qPCR Primer Set – nicastrin
Also known as: ATAG1874
About this gene: NCSTN encodes a type I transmembrane glycoprotein that is an integral component of the multimeric gamma-secretase complex. The NCSTN protein cleaves integral membrane proteins, including Notch receptors and beta-amyloid precursor protein, and may be a stabilizing cofactor required for gamma-secretase complex assembly. The cleavage of beta-amyloid precursor protein yields amyloid beta peptide, the main component of the neuritic plaque and the hallmark lesion in the brains of patients with Alzheimer's disease; however.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 23385; HGNC ID: HGNC:17091; UniProt: Q92542; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_015331.3; Chromosome location: 1q23.2
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
