SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human MTNR1B (melatonin receptor 1B, also called Mel-1B-R) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human MTNR1B qPCR Primer Set – melatonin receptor 1B
Also known as: FGQTL2, MEL-1B-R, MT2
About this gene: MTNR1B encodes one of two high affinity forms of a receptor for melatonin, the primary hormone secreted by the pineal gland. MTNR1B product is an integral membrane protein that is a G-protein coupled, 7-transmembrane receptor. The MTNR1B gene product is found primarily in the retina and brain although this detection requires RT-PCR. It is believed to participate in light-dependent functions in the retina and may be involved in the neurobiological effects of melatonin.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 4544; HGNC ID: HGNC:7464; UniProt: P49286; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_005959.5; Chromosome location: 11q14.3
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
