SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human MTNR1A (melatonin receptor 1A, also called Mel-1A-R) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human MTNR1A qPCR Primer Set – melatonin receptor 1A
Also known as: MEL-1A-R, MT1
About this gene: MTNR1A encodes one of two high affinity forms of a receptor for melatonin, the primary hormone secreted by the pineal gland. This receptor is a G-protein coupled, 7-transmembrane receptor that is responsible for melatonin effects on mammalian circadian rhythm and reproductive alterations affected by day length. The receptor is an integral membrane protein that is readily detectable and localized to two specific regions of the brain.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 4543; HGNC ID: HGNC:7463; UniProt: P48039; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_005958.4; Chromosome location: 4q35.2
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
