About this gene: The MTHFR protein catalyzes the conversion of 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate to 5-methyltetrahydrofolate, a co-substrate for homocysteine remethylation to methionine. Genetic variation in MTHFR influences susceptibility to occlusive vascular disease, neural tube defects, colon cancer and acute leukemia, and mutations in MTHFR are linked to methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase deficiency.

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
