SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human MMP2 (matrix metallopeptidase 2, also called gelatinase A) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human MMP2 qPCR Primer Set – matrix metallopeptidase 2
Also known as: CLG4, CLG4A, MMP-2, MMP-II, MONA, TBE-1
About this gene: MMP2 belongs to the matrix metalloproteinase gene family, that are zinc-dependent enzymes capable of cleaving components of the extracellular matrix and molecules involved in signal transduction. The MMP2 protein is a gelatinase A, type IV collagenase, that contains three fibronectin type II repeats in its catalytic site that allow binding of denatured type IV and V collagen and elastin. Unlike most MMP family members, activation of this protein can occur on the cell membrane.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 4313; HGNC ID: HGNC:7166; UniProt: P08253; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_004530.6; Chromosome location: 16q12.2
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
