About this gene: MGP belongs to the osteocalcin/matrix Gla family of proteins. The encoded vitamin K-dependent protein is secreted by chondrocytes and vascular smooth muscle cells, and acts as a physiological inhibitor of ectopic tissue calcification. Carboxylation status of the MGP protein is linked to calcification of the vasculature in human patients with cardiovascular disease and calcification of the synovial membranes in osteoarthritis patients.

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
