SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human MGMT (O-6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase) gene expression by real-time PCR.
Human MGMT qPCR Primer Set – O-6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase
About this gene: Alkylating agents are potent carcinogens that can result in cell death, mutation and cancer. The MGMT protein is a DNA repair protein that is involved in cellular defense against mutagenesis and toxicity from alkylating agents. The protein catalyzes transfer of methyl groups from O-alkylguanine and other methylated moieties of the DNA to its own molecule, which repairs the toxic lesions.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 4255; HGNC ID: HGNC:7059; UniProt: P16455; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_002412.5; Chromosome location: 10q26.3
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
