Human MFN2 qPCR Primer Set – mitofusin 2
Also known as: CMT2A, CMT2A2, CMT2A2A, CMT2A2B, CPRP1, HMSN6A, HSG, MARF, MSL
About this gene: MFN2 encodes a mitochondrial membrane protein that participates in mitochondrial fusion and contributes to the maintenance and operation of the mitochondrial network. The MFN2 protein is involved in the regulation of vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation, and it may play a role in the pathophysiology of obesity. Mutations in MFN2 cause Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2A2, and hereditary motor and sensory neuropathy VI, which are both disorders of the peripheral nervous system.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 9927; HGNC ID: HGNC:16877; UniProt: O95140; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_014874.4; Chromosome location: 1p36.22
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
